Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where are the potatoes and onions grown?
    We grow the potatoes and onions near Fertile, Iowa, which is about 30 minutes from our warehouse.
  • Do you buy potatoes and onions from other growers?
    No, we only pack and ship the produce that we grow! If you see our logo on your produce, you know that it was grown and packed in Iowa. Click here to see our history.
  • Are your products available all year?
    No, we start selling onions after harvest, usually the last week of September. Potatoes are available starting in early October. We then have products for sale until we run out, usually May-June.
  • Can I buy them directly from the warehouse?
    Yes! Once we have products for sale after harvest, we are open at the warehouse Monday-Fridays 8-5 and Saturdays 8-12.
  • Are your products available in the grocery store?
    Yes, you can find us in 30+ grocery stores, including Fareway, Hyvee, and local stores
  • What if I don’t see your potatoes in my grocery store?
    If you don’t see our products on display from November-April, be sure to ask the produce department!
  • How long have you been growing potatoes?
    In the 1920s, Carl and Julius Kittleson started growing onions and potatoes on the farm and this is what we still grow today! Learn more about our history.
