Meet The Family

Steve
steve

Steve grew up on a farm in the Osage, IA area. He started a sweet corn business at age 12, known as Steve’s Sweet Corn. In high school he also started raising a few acres of onions as part of his FFA SAE project.

Steve graduated from Iowa State University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business with a minor in Agronomy. After college he farmed his own acres along with helping in his parents farming operation.

Steve’s family has a rich history of raising onions as his grandfather Wilmer started raising onions in the 1930’s. In 2014, he partnered with John Kittleson and grew potatoes and onions in the Kittleson Brothers operation after Charles Kittleson retired.

In 2022 Steve and his wife Beth purchased the Kittleson Brothers business from John Kittleson. Steve has been active in the community with the Mitchell County Extension Council, Mitchell County Cattlemen’s Association and Osage Coop Elevator Board, serving as president in all three boards in the past. Steve and his wife, Beth have three children, Abby, Caleb, and Ellery.

Beth

Beth grew up on a livestock and crop farm near Guthrie Center, IA and is a 2004 graduate of Iowa State University in Ag Communications.

Beth became an active part of Kittleson Brothers in 2019 with her efforts in marketing, customer service, and billing, after her career path took her through work in conservation, manure management, and agricultural recruiting.

Beth has been involved in many local and state agricultural organizations including Mitchell County Farm Bureau, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Ag Leaders Institute, 2023 Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship Local Food and Farm Program Council and is also the 2017 recipient of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmer Leadership Award.

Adam

Adam grew up on a livestock and row crop farm near Osage, IA. At a young age, he showed great interest in farming, especially fruits and vegetables. In high school, aside from showing cattle and pigs Adam worked for Steve’s Sweet Corn.

He graduated from Iowa State University in 2021 with a degree in Agricultural Education. Throughout college, Adam worked at Kittleson Brothers during harvest and during winter breaks from class.

After graduation, Adam decided to return home to start farming, and started full time at Kittleson Brothers.

In the spring of 2023, Adam became a business partner with Steve, growing potatoes and onions as Kittleson Brothers. Adam also serves as the Mitchell County Cattlemen’s Treasurer, and is a swine superintendent at the Mitchell County Fair.
